Practical Training Solutions was founded under the vision and leadership of Bobby Rader. With nearly two decades of dedicated service to his community, Bobby was a trailblazer in his time as a Tactical Operator. His career was rooted in the Special Operations Community of Law Enforcement, serving in S.W.A.T., Narcotics, and Counter-Drug operations.

Bobby's vision for Practical Training Solutions emerged from his firsthand experience witnessing the decline of moral standards and the surge of crime in California. As violence spread, victimizing law-abiding citizens, Bobby recognized the urgent need for practical, real-world training in self-defense and the lawful use of force. In 2019, he made it his mission to share his extensive knowledge with the people of Tulare, Kings, Kern, and Fresno Counties.

In 2021, Bobby began mentoring Jeremy McMillan as an instructor with Practical Training Solutions. With a law enforcement career that began in 2013, Jeremy has worked in Narcotics, Gangs, currently serves as a S.W.A.T. Sniper, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in criminal Justice Administration and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership. His passion for training has been instrumental in advancing firearms tactics and defensive strategies for fellow officers, including those in his own agency.

Together, through their law enforcement experience, Bobby and Jeremy have trained and taught countless law enforcement professionals, specializing in tactical operations, use-of-force decision-making, and real-world self-defense scenarios. Having worked alongside some of the brightest and most capable operators in the field, they understand the gravity of split-second decisions that mean the difference between life and death. Their expertise in legal and tactical applications of force makes Practical Training Solutions a premier resource for those seeking advanced, effective, and responsible training in self-defense and firearms tactics.

In 2025, Bobby decided to take a step back from the company, and Jeremy was the obvious choice to acquire Practical Training Solutions and carry its mission forward. As the owner and operator, Jeremy remains committed to the same vision, leadership, and dream that Bobby established.

Since acquiring Practical Training Solutions, Jeremy has significantly expanded its operations and course offerings. He has assembled a team of highly experienced instructors with backgrounds in SWAT, narcotics enforcement, gang investigations, firearms instruction, and corrections. Collectively, the team brings over 100 years of combined experience in California law enforcement, the California Department of Corrections, and professional firearms training.

In addition to enhancing the instructional staff, Jeremy has broadened the curriculum to include specialized courses such as business and private entity security training programs and basic long-distance rifle instruction — furthering the company's mission to provide comprehensive, real-world firearms education.
